Take a journey with us to Birdland, a smokey jazz club in New York City, named after the famous Charlie "Yardbird" Parker. Frequented by the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich, and Ava Gardner, Birdland was THE jazz hotspot of its day.

ALCHEMY

Alchemy is an art event that puts the thrill of creation into your hands.  And onto your fingers.  And into your mouth.  Alchemy invites you to participate, create, and engage with a multitude of interactive art pieces, and with the other participants and attendees.   The fourth annual San Francisco event is being held at Gray Area Foundation for the Arts (GAFFTA), on Saturday, May 1 from 8pm-2am.

Alchemy presents a hands-on evening of playful installations, unusual speakers and intriguing performances that instigate connection and create opportunities for attendants to express their own creative side.  The result is an active, energetic space where art, music, strangers and friends all play well together, and you are invited to be a part of it!

Bollyweird: The Cosmic Dance. Ten blocks of art and celebration, and ten stages of music. Performances and colorful costumes, vendors from around the world, food and drinks, and a new world record!

The How Weird Street Faire is an experiment in creating peace, bringing together a wide range of styles and communities. Come join the fun. All ages welcome. Costumes highly encouraged.

The music stages are produced by local collectives and music organizations working together for peace. This year includes stages by Symbiosis, Muti Music, Rebel Bass Collective, Tantra, Groove Garden, Non Stop Bhangra, Temple Nightclub, Opel, Opulent Temple, Strategik, Space Cowboys, Brass Tax, Ultraviolet Carnival, Team Infinity, Red Marines Festival, Aum Festival, Le Harem, Style/Clash, Tiki Tom, and more!
